Jean-Philippe Décarie-Mathieu has worked in various fields of information technology and security for the past 22 years, from developer to network security analyst, systems administrator and security operations center manager. He co-founded and worked as the managing director for Crypto.Québec, a grassroots organization aimed at raising awareness on mass surveillance, information security and privacy-related issues impacting the general public.
An international speaker and a frequent guest in Québec’s media circuit providing insight and analyzing current events related to technological risks, Jean-Philippe currently works as a freelance cybersecurity consultant. He also sits on the board of administrators and organizing committee of NorthSec, Canada’s largest applied cybersecurity conference and the world’s biggest on-premise capture-the-flag competition.
