Founding Director, eQualitie
Dmitri is the founding director of eQualitie, leading its censorship resistance and decentralization efforts, since 2011. Dmitri initiated the Internet Without Borders conference and hackathon series, lead the creation of several digital security help-desks around the world.
Dmitri specializes in strategic capacity building efforts in authoritarian countries and lead field work in over 40 countries. He is the author of the Digital Security and Privacy for Human Rights Defenders manual and was a founding member and coordinator of the NGO-in-a-Box Security Edition project. Dmitri is interested in the problems of dual-usage technology – that he approaches from a cypherpunk, commercial, and international human rights perspective.
