Ethan Zuckerman is an American media scholar, blogger, and Internet activist. He holds the position of associate professor of Public Policy, Communication and Information at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is the founder of the Institute for Digital Public Infrastructure. Zuckerman’s academic journey is marked by associations with esteemed institutions such as the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard, the MIT Media Lab, and Comparative Media Studies at MIT, along with roles at Geekcorps and Tripod.
As a co-founder of the global blogging community Global Voices, he collaborates extensively with international social change nonprofit organizations. Furthermore, he is the author of two books, “Mistrust: Why Losing Faith in Institutions Provides the Tools to Transform Them” and “Rewire: Digital Cosmopolitans in the Age of Connection,” both published by W.W.
